Turkish Authorities Arrest, Fine Returnees in Afrin Amid Heightened Tensions

Turkish authorities in occupied Afrin arrested a deportee from Turkish lands and another returnee from forced displacement in Aleppo, fining him before release.

According to our correspondent, “Mohammed Hassan Hassan” from Mazen village was arrested by the Turkish-allied military police, accusing him of past involvement with the Autonomous Administration. Mohammed, aged 32, was recently deported from Turkey.

Additionally, Ahmed Bakr, 57, from Bulbul, was detained two weeks ago and was released after a week upon paying a $400 fine, despite returning from displacement in Aleppo.
