Kurdish Man Arrested, IDP Ransomed for $12,000 Released in Afrin

Sources indicate that Mohamed Salah Zaino, a twenty-year-old resident of Darkir\ Dargirê village in Mobata, was detained by the military police militia on April 18th. The reasons behind his arrest remain undisclosed.

In a separate incident, Ahmed Fares Abu Yazan, a resident originally from Salqin, Idlib, engaged in currency exchange and gold trading, was released on April 21st. His freedom was secured following the payment of a $12,000 ransom to his unidentified captors.

It is worth noting that Abu Yazan had been abducted, on April 14, 2024, by unidentified individuals taking him and his car towards an unknown destination along the road from the village of Shadia to the town of Rajo.
