Funded by pro-Muslim Brotherhood associations: New settlement project in Yazidi village of Şadêrê, occupied Afrin

afrinpost

The Turkish authorities are currently building a new settlement complex in the countryside of the occupied Afrin region in northern Syria, to bring in more families from Idlib governorate and housing them in it, as part of the demographic change planned to erase the Kurdish identity of the region in favor of militants and their families loyal to Ankara.

Our correspondents monitored that the housing units are being built in the south of the village of Şadêrê /Shadereh – Sherawa sub-district, specifically in the Şadêrê-Tiqikê near the village of Iska and 15 km from the Turkish-Syrian border, to bring families from Idlib camps to settle them there.

It is known that the Kurdish Yazidi village of Şadêrê, was inhabited by about 500 people prior to the Turkish-Muslim Brotherhood invasion in 2018, and after the occupation of the village on 3/14/2018, all of them were displaced and only 50 of the original residents were able to return to it, while the militants and their families settled in the village and took over homes and properties of forcibly displaced citizens.

The “White Hands” association, with the support of the International Charity Association for Development (Tanmia), which is headquartered in the State of Kuwait, has launched a project “Basma” to build a residential village, in the village of Şadêrê, which includes in its first phase 12 housing units, each of 3 floors, and each floor has 4 apartments. The total will be 144 apartments, 50 square meters each, consisting of tow rooms, in addition to a bathroom and a kitchen.

The project includes other annexes that include a mosque, a school, a health center, and an integrated infrastructure, including water networks, sanitation, electricity and a road network.

Muslim Brotherhood funding for the project:

The “White Hands” Muslim Brotherhood Association receives financial support from the “Live with Dignity” association, of the Palestinians of 1948, as our team contacted the branch of the “Live with Dignity” association in Israel, and obtained a special permit from one of its employees without revealing his identity.

The member of the association said in the registered phone call that their association supports “white hands” projects in Turkey and in the areas occupied by Turkey, to help Syrian refugees, explaining that they funded, through the “White Hands” association, the construction of 5 mosques in the Turkish-controlled areas, and they also financed Housing projects in it, in addition to providing food aid to Syrian refugees in camps, either in Syria or in Turkey.

The “Live with Dignity” Association, has funded the construction of several mosques in Afrin region. At the end of April 2021, a mosque and a center for memorizing Qur’an were opened in the village of Meşalê/ Mishala, in Sharan sub-district. It also funded the construction of two other mosques in the villages of Til Tewîlê and Îkidamê, and the association collects donations from several Palestinian towns and cities such as Jaljuliya, Umm al-Fahm, al-Tira, Qalansuah and Maysar and Jatt almuthallath, located in the so-called Southern Triangle.

The association that is building the new settlement leased the land from citizen Ziad Habib for a (renewable) period of five years, after threating and exerting pressure on him by militants control the village.

It is noteworthy that the “White Hands” Association, which defines itself as a charitable organization, receives support from Muslim-Brotherhood-oriented associations, and has 45 partners supporting its projects, including: “ the Kuwaiti Sheikh Abdullah Al-Nouri Charity Association, the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs in the State of Kuwait, the International Islamic Charity Organization, the Qatari Ruhama’a among them, the Kuwaiti Zakat House, the International Symposium of Muslim Youth, the Reform Society and the Bahraini Charitable Work Committee, the Kuwaiti Al Najat Charity Association, the Kuwaiti campaign “Li Shamna Thukher wa Sanad”.
