Clash Erupts Among Militia Leaders Over Smuggling Points in Afrin

afrinpost-Exclusive

A skirmish broke out between leaders of Jaish Al-Sharqiya militia during a meeting held at one of the headquarters in the village of Hamam in the Jindires sub-district of occupied Afrin. The dispute arose over disagreements regarding smuggling routes into Turkey from Hamam village and the distribution of smuggling profits.

Our correspondent reported that during the meeting, attended by “Abu Al-Mu’tasim Khasham,” “Abu Hisham Khasham,” and “Abu Hadi,” to allocate smuggling points to Turkey among themselves, “Abu Hadi” objected to the points allocated to him. He accused others of embezzling Jaish Al-Sharqiya militia funds and stealing profits from smuggling operations.

Following a verbal altercation between the conflicting parties, “Abu Hadi” opened fire with his Kalashnikov rifle at “Abu Al-Mu’tasim Khasham” and “Abu Hisham Khasham,” injuring them. Additionally, one of the companions of “Abu Al-Mu’tasim Khasham,” named “Khalil Shammi Al-Sawadi,” was wounded. The injured were transported to the Amanus Hospital in the occupied city of Afrin.
