Yazidi Kurdish woman, Arin Hassan, released after being kidnapped for 10 months by Turkish occupation militants in Afrin

The Military Police Militia of the Turkish Occupation Forces and the Muslim Brotherhood Organization released today, Wednesday 23/12/2020, the Yazidi Kurdish woman Arin Daly Hassan (21 years old) from the village of Kimareh in the Sherawa district, after she was arbitrarily arrested since February 27, 2020.

Arin Daly Hassan, the young Yazidi girl, one of the women who appeared in the video on the day of the storming of the headquarters of al-Hamzat militia (formerly Asayish building) by armed settlers, after which she moved between several prisons in Afrin, Al-Bab and Azaz, accompanied by ten other girls.

According to the Kurdish legal authority, the Yazidi woman was released from the central prison of Mararteh, after she paying a royalty of one thousand Turkish liras to the court of the Turkish occupation authorities.

No information was available about the fate of Arin until she appeared in a video on 5/28/2020, the day the militants of the Army of Islam and Ahrar al-Sham militia stormed the headquarters of al-Hamzat militia in the city of Afrin (the old Asayish headquarters), and her family recognized her among the women and girls.

The family of the young woman, Arin, had visited the headquarters of the Military Police, after they learned that the kidnapped women had been transferred to it, after the violence and the burning of the headquarters of al-Hamzat militia, but they denied the presence of the young woman, Arin.

Arin Daly Hassan was arrested on an arbitrary basis on February 27, 2020, by an armed group led by the so-called “Abu Shaher Hamzat” and affiliated with al-Hamzat militia, and “Abu Shaher” is responsible for carrying out all the arrests that took place in the villages of Sherawa district.
