Pictures and video expose Turkish-backed militant brutally logging forests in Afrin

afrinpost – Exclusive

“Afrinpost” was able to monitor piles of firewood and trees that were cut and removed from the forests of Rajo district by armed groups affiliated with the security forces of the Turkish-supported “al-Hamza Division / Al-Hamzat” militia.

Our reporter, citing reliable sources, stated that the so-called “Wael Al-Saeed Abu Saeed,” the security official for the private sector of “al-Hamzat” militia in the Rajo district, uprooted and logged hundreds of forest trees in the mountains surrounding the villages of Hassan, Komresh, and Kureh in the Raju district, using a “tree cuter” machine.

The so-called “Abu Saeed” hails from the town of Maarat Hurmah in Idlib countryside, and he occupies the position of deputy of the so-called “Yazid Bishkawi,” the security leader of the “Al-Hamzat” militia in the villages of the district, and he resides in the village of Atmana. His armed group, which carries out the uprooting and cutting of the sub-district’s forests, includes many other militants and his relatives like “Abu Anas” and “Abu Khaled.”

Tons of oak trunks (as shown in the pictures below), spread on both sides of the road between the villages of Hassan and Komresh, intended to be transported and sold by the “Abu Saeed” group, who supervises a center for selling firewood in the village of Komresh, according to the reporter.
