What is the reason behind the increasing number of brothels in Afrin ?

After many of the militants of the Islamic militias affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood organization went from the occupied Kurdish region of Afrin in northern Syria to the occupied territories by Turkey in Libya, which is led there by what is known as the Muslim Brotherhood Accord Government, the number of brothels increased in Afrin, especially in Al-Mahmoudiya neighborhood.

The “Afrinpost” correspondent at the Afrin Center said that as many militants went from Afrin to Libya, and their women remained alone, the number of brothels increased in Afrin.

The reporter indicated that a settler woman from Aleppo, supported by major leaders within the militias, has opened a brothel in Al-Mahmoudiya neighborhood of Afrin, and that 200 settler women whose husbands went to Libya or were killed there attend that house, and the reporter noted that the militants themselves go to that house on a daily basis.

Brothels have spread widely in the Kurdish region of Afrin after it was occupied by Turkey and its Islamic militias on the eighteenth of March 2018, all of which are run by leaders supported by the Turkish occupation.

On the twelfth of last July, Afrinpost was able to obtain an enumeration of the brothels that were opened by the leaders of the Islamic militias in Afrin neighborhoods through a source in the city.

The source indicated at the time that there are about 37 brothels in Afrin, and he also added: “There are 10 houses in Al-Mahmudiyah neighborhood, 20 in Al-Ashrafieh neighborhood, and 7 in Al-Zeydiyeh neighborhood. This is what I got, but the number may be much more.”

The source said that a leader of Al-Shamiya Front militia is running the affairs of brothels during the Turkish occupation, and added: “The leader is named Nidal Al-Bayanouni, and he is the one who facilitates the opening of brothels, and Turkish soldiers want that as well.”

At a time when the Islamic militias intend to practice the role of sponsoring the vice in Afrin, large groups of indigenous Kurdish women of Afrin, are still kidnapped by the militants of the Muslim Brotherhood organization, as each militia of the so-called “Syrian National Army / The Free Army”, owns its own detention centers in where it practices all kinds of torture and abuse against Kurdish women and youth.
