Banditry .. encourages the militants to reunite their families in the occupied Afrin

Afrinpost – Special

The Afrinpost correspondent at the center of the occupied Kurdish region of Afrin in northern Syria reported that a number of Islamic militia militants affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood organization are trying to bring their families from neighboring areas to Afrin, in light of the spread of banditry, the rule of jungle law and the chaos of weapons that allow them to carry out plundering the livelihoods and seasons of the Kurdish citizens freely.

The reporter explained that each of the militants (Abu Uday, Abu Uday al-Dairi and Abu Hamzah) of the “Sultan Murad Squad” militia brought their families residing in the city of Jarablus to Afrin, with the aim of settling in it, and exploiting their role in managing security sectors in the city, as it gives them the opportunity to earn money by imposing royalties and benefiting from the trade in apartments and real estate, which cost them nothing but seizing them by force.

The robbery and looting constitute the broadest heading for the occupation of Afrin region, which began with the first day of the occupation of Afrin city center, when lines of armed men occupied the city’s streets, and looted institutions, shops, and everything until this day.

All acts of kidnapping and torture fall under the risk of ransom, as well as the storming of homes at night, in the context of theft, and some of the robbery actions even have resulted in the killing of homeowners.

Local sources reported that large numbers of armed families from the city of Azaz, the village of Menagh, and others from the northern countryside of Aleppo, are settling in the villages of Afrin, as they seek to acquire the lands and properties of the displaced Kurds in the event that the occupation continues for a long period, or the scenario of the Sanjak of Alexandretta repeats.
