In Afrin: Arrests, payment of financial ransoms, and paid kidnapping

The Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood militia continue to harass the indigenous Kurdish people of Afrin, and to fabricate charges for arrest, kidnapping, and methods of looting and stealing money with various pretexts.

What is new is forcing the kidnapped to pay money in the militia headquarters, which can be called “paid kidnapping”, to make the matter worse for the bad, because kidnapping and arbitrary detention in itself are infamous behavior, while the charges remain constant, either with serving in the Military Service or the relationship with Self-Administration during the previous era.

In the context, private local sources told “Afrinpost” from the region’s center, that the militia of “Sultan Murad Brigade” of the Turkish occupation and which occupy the villages of the “Bulbulah / Bulbul”, inform the citizens who performed the Duty of Self-Defense during the previous period of Self-Administration under the pretext of a settling their situation in exchange for a financial ransom of 350,000 Syrian pounds.

The process may be repeated just to get the money, and the gunmen force the kidnapped Kurds to pay the sum of (5000) Syrian pounds for every night, on the pretext that it is the accommodation, food and drink fees for the entire period of the kidnapping, according to Human Rights Organization – Afrin, and the names of the kidnappers have been kept secret due to the security necessity.

On the eighth of July, the Turkish occupation intelligence, in coordination with the militia of “Military Police”, arrested the citizens of the village of Julaqa, in Jenderes, on charges of dealing with the previous Self-Administration, who were: 1- Muhammad Majeed Othman 2- Abdul Rahman Khalil Othman 3- Muhammad Farid Rasho were taken to a militia headquarters in the town of Mobata.

On the other hand, the Turkish Intelligence Agency, in coordination with “Military Police” militia, launched a massive campaign of arrests in the village of Ma’amila / Ma’amal Oshaghi, which targeted eight citizens, among them elderly people, who were: 1- Ibrahim Girte (65 years old). 2- Ali Muhammad and his mother, Zainab, 68, nicknamed “Ali Kour.” 3- Mustafa Khalil Ibrahim Othman, his mother Farida (25 years old). 4- Haji Girte. 5- Fawzi Sabri Aliko. 6- Muhannad Adnan Bakun. 7- Battal Jaafar Battal. 8- Mustafa Othman Kurdi, and their fate is still unknown.

Meanwhile, local sources reported that three children from the village of “Joqe/ Juwaiq”, affiliated with Afrin city center, were missing on Thursday / 9 July, while they were heading to the village’s vineyards, and only one name was known :Hamid Nuri Sido (14 years old), but no information was available on the circumstances of their disappearance, which raised the fear of their relatives that they might be kidnapped, especially in circumstances where repeated cases of killing children with unknown hands, including throwing them from the balconies in addition to the activity of human organs trafficking.
