On October 10, 2023, the Turkish-affiliated Civilian Police, arrested Zozan, a 32-year-old woman, the wife of Esmaat Mohammed Mustafa “Heshino.” She was detained in her home in the village of Sheikhutka, in the Mobata/Ma’batli sub-district of Afrin, on charges of working within institutions of the Autonomous Administration in the Afrin region.
According to our sources, Zozan, a Kurdish woman, was taken to the militia’s headquarters in the sub-district center and remains in custody.
Previously, Turkish intelligence arrested, on September 12, 2023, a woman named Nazeera Hameed Mustafa, aged 50, as well as Nazeefa Youssef and her infant child, on similar charges. These women were released at different intervals later.
