Our correspondent in Afrin reported that the Economic Office of the Hamza Division Militias in the village of Marateh/Marata, informed local residents approximately one week ago that they must obtain a document allowing them to harvest olives from their fields. They were also required to pay a financial fee amounting to one thousand US dollars for each village neighboring the village of Marateh. This fee was justified under the pretext of overseeing crop yields.
The correspondent affirmed that the militia has collected a total of 70,000 Turkish lira from the residents of 11 villages under their control in that region alone. It is worth noting that the militia also controls other villages in the Rajo and Bulbul sub-districts.
