Syrian Regime Soldier Seriously Injured by Sniper Shot in Sharan Axis of Afrin

Sources reported that a member of the Syrian regime army sustained severe injuries after being shot by a sniper in the Sharan axis of the occupied Afrin countryside on Sunday. The injured soldier was subsequently transferred to a hospital in Aleppo for treatment.

In a related development, the Syrian regime army launched heavy artillery shelling and rocket attacks on the vicinity of Deir Sanbul village in southern Idlib countryside, as well as on the Fawj 46 axis in western Aleppo countryside. Russian reconnaissance aircraft intensified their presence in the region to assist in target correction for the Syrian regime’s artillery.

Yesterday evening, the Syrian regime army escalated its artillery bombardment, targeting positions of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham on the Ma’arablat and Al-Fatirah axes in southern Idlib countryside. Additionally, heavy machine guns and artillery fire targeted the surroundings of San and Majdalia villages in eastern Idlib countryside, accompanied by intense flights of Russian warplanes in the area.

In response, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham retaliated by shelling Syrian regime army positions with heavy artillery on the Fawj 46 axis in western Aleppo countryside, with no information available regarding casualties among the ranks of the Syrian regime army.
