According to exclusive information obtained by “afrinpost“, the Civil Police militia has released Ibrahim Madour Abu Khalil, a resident of Qara Qul village in the Bulbul district, after he paid a sum of $700.
Ibrahim was arrested on December 27, 2022 from his home near Bilal Mosque in al-Ashrafieh neighborhood by the Civil Police militia and taken to Maratah prison in the city of Afrin. He spent over a month in detention before being released on February 14, 2023.
The 40-year-old father of three works in freelance jobs and was arrested without clear charges.
Since the beginning of February 2023 until February 14, afrinpost has documented eight cases of arrest and abduction, including seven residents of Afrin, in addition to the arrest of a Christian woman who was on her way to Turkish territories. Six cases of release have also been documented.
