In names: Members of the “Rights Committee” seize homes and shops in Afrin

The Afrinpost correspondent at Afrin region center monitored the seizure of dozens of homes and shops belonging to the people of Afrin by members of the “Rights Restitution” committee formed by the Syrian-Muslim Brotherhood, which refutes what those parties claim are restoring rights to their owners.

The reporter documented these violations as follows:

  • The leader of the “al-Shamiya Front” militia and a member of the “Restoration of Rights” committee, called “Naim,” seizes four houses in the “Ismail” building in al-Ashrafieh neighborhood, in addition to two houses and two shops in the same area.
  • The so-called “Ahmed Kabso”, a leader in the “al-Shamiya Front” militia and a member of “Restoration of Rights”, seizes part of the shops in the industrial zone, in addition to several shops in the vicinity of Kawa roundabout, in addition to two houses next to al-Ashrafieh park.
  • The so-called “Abu Ali al-Kurdi” who is a leader in “al-Shamiya Front” militia and a member of the “Restoration of Rights” committee seizes 3 houses next to al-Ashrafieh park, among them a house owned by Othman Ashki, another for Barakat, and the third belongs to one of Citizens from the village of Kurka / Gorkan, in addition to an apartment opposite the local council, as well as commercial shops in Kawa roundabout area.
  • The so-called “Muhammad Al-Hamadeen Abu Riyad,” who is the leader of the “Military Police” militia, seizes an entire residential building next to the electricity company in the Ashrafieh neighborhood, in addition to four other homes in the same area where members of his personal escort live in them. The so-called “Abu Riyadh” also seizes a number One of the shops in the industrial area, and a shop on the highway.
  • The reporter also monitored that the “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” gunmen sold several houses on the “Villas” highway, which are as follows:
  • A house belonging to a citizen Shawqi Muhammad from Kfarshil, was sold for 1,500 dollars to a gunman from the same militia, who rented it at seventy-five dollars a month to a settler.
  • The house of the Kurdish citizen “Khalil Othman” was sold for $ 1,300, and the house is located next to “Show Café” and was rented at $ 50 a month.
  • A shop belonging to a Kurdish citizen, “Haitham Muhammad,” who is from the village of Korka / Maabatli, was sold to a settler from Ghouta for $ 1,000, the house is located near the post office building.
  • The house of “Arif Hamo”, a resident of Darkir village, was sold for $ 900, noting that the house is a “basement” located in the Hamada building in the vicinity of the Marati roundabout.
  • The settler “Darwuzi” sold a shop for $ 2,400, knowing that the ownership of the shop belongs to “Khalil”, a resident of the village of Kafr Safra / Jenderes.
  • An office opposite the court, was sold for an amount of $ 400, owned by the expatriate citizen “Anwar Hanif”

It is noteworthy that a committee called “Restitution of Rights” had announced its formation in accordance with a circular issued by the so-called “Staff of the Ministry of Defense, affiliated to the Interim Government,” on October 24, 2020, and “Aleppo Today” channel, which is affiliated with the “Syrian opposition” and is well-known with its work in the field of beautifying the image of the Turkish occupation, broadcasted a report from Afrin on the progress of the property restitution process to its owners.
