The occupation transfers the supporters of the “Syrian Democratic Forces” into Turkish territory … and prosecutes them according to its laws

On Friday, the Kurdish Committee for Human Rights – The Observatory and Syrians for Truth and Justice accused the Turkish occupation of trying Syrians on its soil.

The two organizations mentioned, in a report that came as part of a joint work, and an advocacy campaign in partnership with other Syrian organizations, which began immediately after gathering reliable information about moving dozens of Syrian detainees to Turkish territory, who had been arrested by Islamic militias affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood and the Turkish occupation, who called themselves “Syrian National Army”.

The organizations added that at the end of April 2020, 41 organizations issued a statement calling for intervention to stop potential arbitrary trials against more than 90 people who were transferred to Helwan Prison in the Turkish state of Urfa.

They pointed out that the arrests had taken place mainly in the countryside of the city of Gire Spi \ Tel Abyad and Sere Kaniye / Ras al-Ain in the days immediately following the invasion of Peace Spring.

And it showed that it affected dozens of individuals, indigenous people, whether from the Arab component or the Kurdish component, in addition to that it affected civilian individuals, people who worked with Self-Administration institutions and people who were far from Self-Administration militarily and politically.

In addition, they stressed, the transporting operations into Turkish territory included individuals who were combatants within YPG and SDF.

They said that, according to the information obtained, between (170 to 180) Syrian detainees were transferred from inside the Syrian territories to the Turkish lands, particularly to the Turkish state of Urfa.

They clarified that the “summary paper” that they prepared focuses on the conditions of (90) of them who were detained in Helwan prison, their overwhelming percentage did not participate in any hostile actions, and some of them worked with Self-Administration institutions as workers on a daily basis and as service providers, knowing that there are dozens of other detainees are in Helwan Prison, of whom individuals have been reached, including between (17 to 20) YPG fighters who are under the banner of the SDF, and other papers will be published about the other groups within the prison at a later time.

They revealed that the purpose of the report was that the field researchers of the Commission and the Syrians were communicating with the families of (10) of the detainees, and (5) families accepted to include information about their detained children.

The two organizations conducted the meetings in the end of April 2020 and the beginning of May 2020, via the Internet, and some of them were done personally, and part of the testimonies obtained were included, taking into consideration hiding some details in order to protect the sources.

They explained that the “Committee” and “Syrians” obtained hundreds of pages of documents (in Turkish), one of which shows the names of more than (70) of the detainees, which are the names belonging to the first group (the group of 90 detainees / see the attachments), in addition to documents containing Information on the charges against the arrested persons, the dates of arrest and the party that carried out the operations.
