The Turkish occupation and its Islamic militias affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood are working to consolidate the presence of settlers in Afrin region by urging them to buy apartments and agricultural lands.
In a new phenomenon in the occupied Kurdish region of Afrin, in northern Syria, settlers are buying apartments and land in Afrin, remarkably, to support their settlement.
In this context, “Afrinpost” reporter in the area of Jenderes stated that “Muhammad Battal” sells apartments to the settlers, adding that the latter “works with the Turkish occupation and supports the presence of the settlers in Afrin”.
He also noted: “Yesterday, Muhammad Battal sold an apartment on 16th Street 100 meters from the bakery in Jenderes, to an armed settler from Aleppo, who works for Ahrar al-Sham militia, for 9,000 USD, taking advantage of his previous work as a construction contractor, since he built that building, and now he is selling it to the settlers. ”
And the reporter added that the so-called “Mohamed Battal” also sells land to settlers, while activists in Afrin warn that selling apartments to settlers will enhance their presence in the region and create a foothold to them.
