In conjunction with the extensive logging operations against trees in the occupied Kurdish region of Afrin in northern Syria, by armed men and their families who are loyal to the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood, displaced people of Afrin in “Barakhdan” camp in Shahba launched a campaign of reforestation inside the camp, in response to violations of the Turkish occupation crimes against nature.

The Agriculture Authority and the municipality of People in the occupied Afrin district, in cooperation with the people of the Berkhdan camp in the Fafin district in Al-Shahba, started a campaign to plant different types of cypress and ornamental trees, which were distributed to the communes in the camp to plant .

According to those responsible for it, the campaign aims to plant 600 trees, including 250 solar trees within the camp, and 200 cypress trees in the vicinity and main streets, in addition to 150 ornamental trees. People are also preparing about 2000 seedlings for planting later in the camp garden, which are different types of roses. Such as carnations, basil, and many other types.

Walid Ahmed, an administrator in the municipality of “Berkhdan Camp”, stated that this campaign came in response to violations of the Turkish occupation against the nature of nature in Afrin, and said: “The Turkish occupation continues to burn, steal, and cut all types of trees in Afrin province in order to sell them, and we are the people of Afrin We respond to the violations of the occupation by participating in agricultural projects within Al-Shahba district.

He continued: “For us, nature is our life, we Afrin society love nature and the environment, and we do not want to cause harm to it, so we cooperated with the people in the camp with this campaign to plant about 600 trees, and 2000 different seedlings of roses within the camp.”
