The Kurdish Red Crescent organization, Avrin branch, has started collecting blood donations to meet the needs of citizens, and conducting operations without facing difficulties in the Aafrin Hospital in Al-Shahba district, according to Hawar News Agency.

Forcibly displaced people of Afrin, and members of the Kurdish Red Crescent, started arriving at the medical point in Ahras district, to donate blood to meet the needs of citizens at the Avrin Hospital on January 9th.

The Avrin Hospital suffers from a shortage of blood, to carry out operations for the sick, while the initiative comes in light of the daily bombardment of Al-Shahba by the Turkish occupation army and its Islamic militias affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood, which often results in civilian casualties.

“The boycott is witnessing a suffocating siege from all sides, the violations being practiced against the people in the area, and the shells that target civilians almost daily,” said Akram Arab, joint head of the Kurdish Red Crescent. Avrin Hospital is facing many difficulties, due to the lack of blood to carry out operations for patients.

“The initiative that we started today continues, until the hospital needs are met, and the necessary blood groups are completed for the hospital, and the campaign will continue in all villages and districts of Al-Shahba district,” he added.
