The Syrian regime requires from Afrinis to issue a “residency card” to allow them to leave and return to Aleppo

Afrinpost-Special

Kurds from the former autonomous province of Afrin have said that the Syrian regime has recently arranged residency cards for Afrinis living in Aleppo when they want to travel outside and return.

They told Afrinpost that the residents of Afrin, who reside in Aleppo and wish to travel to another area such as Damascus, Qamishli or other Syrian provinces, must obtain a residency card, which is organized by the district mayors, allowing them to re-enter Aleppo.

“I traveled from Afrin to Manbij, and then to Qamishli, and then to Damascus, Aleppo. They arrested me and took me to the town of Nubul near the villages of Sherawa, and then I had to pay 125,000 to smugglers in Nubul to get me back to Aleppo. ”

Smugglers from the towns of Nubul and Zahra are working to transport Afrinis from Shahba and Shirawa to Aleppo, with amounts ranging from 75,000 to 200,000 or more, as promised by road safety and safety.

The regime’s actions are no longer confined to the punitive treatment of the people of Afrin, but are also treated in the same way with the Kurdish citizens from the eastern Euphrates areas such as Kobani and Sere Kanye / Ras al-Ain.

The Syrian regime is trying to retaliate against the “Self-Administration” by accusing it of evading its national responsibilities, through which it put the “army” in the service of its survival in power, instead of protecting the borders of the country and preventing annexing of its territory.

These retaliation attempts follow the success of the Syrian Kurds and their partners in the rest of northern Syria in forming an alternative administration after they withdrew from the north of the country to devote themself to the armed conflict with the Muslim Brotherhood over power since 2011.

In this context, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Syrian regime, Faisal al-Miqdad, said on October 10, that the dialogue was and still exists in front of the Syrian forces that affirm their loyalty to the logic of the state and not to separatist forces in the arms of Zionist forces (referring to the Syrian Democratic Forces, It is noteworthy that he now shares one constitutional committee with the Muslim Brotherhood organization known for their loyalty to Turkey and its support for its occupation of the eastern Euphrates and Afrin to establish a special entity of the organization, which is affiliated to Ankara).

Amjad Othman, a spokesman for the Syrian Democratic Council, responded to these accusations by asserting that “the Turkish attack on northeastern Syria comes after international understandings,” saying that “the Syrian government in Damascus justifies its inability to intervene and confront Turkey by making accusations” against the SDF.

Othman, in an interview with “Arab.Net,” that “the Syrian Democratic Forces are resisting heroism today without air coverage from the international coalition led by Washington, and rely only on the national spirit of its fighters,” pointing out that “if the fight against ISIS for 5 years is treason, this means that the summit of patriotism is to stand by the occupiers and let terrorism wreak havoc. ”

It is clear from the Syrian regime’s evasion in defending the Syrian border, its prior agreement with the Turkish regime with Russian mediation to occupy certain areas in return for the regime’s survival in power, and the removal of the opposition led by the Muslim Brotherhood organization from demanding its overthrow, in return for the settlement of armed relatives in the areas that Turkey seeks to occupy.

On October 15, Russia revealed that the governments of the two regimes in Syria and Turkey are engaged in ongoing dialogue and talks on the impact of the Turkish operation in northern Syria, stressing that any clash between the two sides will be prevented.

“I think that any clash is not in the interest of anyone but it is unacceptable, which is why we will not allow that,” Alexander Lavrentiyev, the Russian president’s special envoy to Syria, told reporters. Lavrentiyev pointed out the existence of “ongoing dialogue,” and explained in this context that contacts are underway “through the channels of the ministries of defense, foreign affairs and intelligence.”
