On April 1st, Turkish authorities in Istanbul arrested two individuals from the Kurdish community of Afrin on charges of previous association with the Autonomous Administration in Afrin.
According to our sources, Abdul Salam Mohammed (47 years old) and Rashid Omar Omar (43 years old), both residents of Jindires, were detained. It is noteworthy that they have been residing in Istanbul since 2014 and possess Turkish residence permits (Kimlik).
“afrinpost” documented 80 cases of arrests and abductions during March 2024, including 4 women, 15 cases targeting returning displaced people of Afrin, 14 cases involving elderly individuals aged between 60 and 85 years old, and 34 documented cases of release.
