20 civilians arrested as part of a massive arrests campaign in Jenderes district

A wide and indiscriminate campaign of arrests, targeting youth in particular, of the indigenous Kurdish region of Afrin, as well as the Arab component of the region’s residents, and what is striking is that the campaign is organized by Turkish intelligence, and is carried out by its members directly or assigned to militia members to implement.

Afrinpost correspondent reported that Turkish intelligence arrested yesterday, Friday 10/2/2020, the citizen Ahmed Darwish, and his family demanded a sum of 3,000 / three thousand US dollars in exchange for his release. There was no information on the payment and the release.

It is worth noting that Ahmed Darwish is a resident of Idlib and has been living in the Jenderes district of Afrin region for more than 25 years, and on Thursday the second of October 2020, armed elements of the “Failaq Al-Sham” militia affiliated with the Turkish occupation army, kidnapped the citizen Bahri Bawz (Baski), born 1978 from the people of Jenderes district in Afrin region, and they demanded his family to pay a sum of money in exchange for his release, and his fate is still unknown.

It is noteworthy that the Muslim Brotherhood militias continue the arrests campaign in Jenderes district.

The frequency of arrests increased in the center of Jenderes district, targeting the youth in particular, and the ready-made charge is dealing with the Autonomous Administration in any form, and arrests are carried out by Turkish intelligence agents.

In the industrial district alone, more than 20 young men were arrested, most of them owners of shops. Some of the known detainees were:

1- Nabi Aziz Nabi.

2- Idris Aziz Nabi.

3- Bahri Bazo (Baski)

4- Sabri Rashid, from Rmadiyah village, who owns a shop in the industry city.

5- Professor Ahmed Darwish, of the Arab component in Jenderes

In addition to three young men also of the Arab component, while the names of the other detainees have not yet been known.
