Turkish occupation militias take revenge on Kurdish human rights defenders by cutting down their trees in Afrin

Afrinpost – Special

The Turkish occupation authorities and the militia of the Muslim Brotherhood began implementing a new plan requiring revenge for those work in exposing the occupation’s policies, its violations of human rights and its crimes committed in the occupied Afrin region.

In the context, the Kurdish legal authority announced that armed men of the “Al-Waqqas” militia, which controls the village of Marwaniya Tahtani in the Shieh / Sheikh Al-Hadid district,on Wednesday the 30th of last September, under the direct direction of the Turkish intelligence / the dead, uprooted and cut down all the olive trees owned by the two jurists, the brothers Gabriel Mustafa and Israfil Mustafa, who live in the forced displacement camps in the al-Shahba area, because they document and expose the violations and crimes committed by the Turkish occupation forces and their affiliated militias.

The Human Rights Commission stated that the “al-Waqqas” militia gunmen brought a bulldozer and uprooted their olive trees from their roots, and this comes – according to their view – as a punitive measure for them because of the media and documentary activities about the violations committed in the occupied Afrin region.

It is noteworthy that the two brothers Gabriel Mustafa and Israfil Mustafa work as lawyers, and their documentation of militia violations is not separated from the core of their human rights work, while the militias are outside all recognized legal frameworks and ethical rules.
