Our correspondent has reported allegations of brutal arrests carried out by the Turkish-backed “Syrian National Army” (SNA) under the “Dawn of Freedom Operations Room” against Kurdish youth and women in Sherawa sub-district and occupied Al-Shahba villages and towns.

According to sources, dozens of Kurdish residents from the village of Baslihaya (Basilê) in Sherawa, currently displaced to Deir Jamal, were detained on charges of alleged affiliation with the Autonomous Administration or the YPG. Witnesses reported that the detainees were restrained, beaten, dragged, and subjected to verbal abuse before being taken to an unknown location.

The arrests created widespread fear in the region, with large numbers of armed militants and military vehicles deployed throughout the area. Among those identified as detained were Abdo Osi, Abu Farhad, a son of Mohammed Jassem, and an individual from the Kdawki family, among others. Arrests were also reported in the villages of Aqiba and Abbin.

Baslihaya has reportedly been uninhabited since its occupation in March 2018, with Turkish-backed forces establishing a military base and preventing the return of its residents under the pretext of its proximity to frontlines. This restriction extends to other nearby villages, including Basofan, Kabashin, Kimar, Deir Mushmush, the slopes of Jabal Al-Ahlam, Basouta, Ba’sala, and Jilbur, as well as villages in the Shara region such as Anab, Maryamin, Kobala, Khalta, and Maaraskeh.
