Our correspondent reported that on Saturday, November 23, the “Border Guards” militia arrested Rezan Mohammed Horo, 38, a resident of Sheikhorz village in Bulbul sub-district, along with four individuals from Aleppo city. The group had recently arrived in Afrin from Aleppo.
According to the report, the militia detained them near the village of Bikeh in Bulbul sub-district as they attempted to cross into Turkish territory with the help of a smuggler from Azaz. It is suspected that the smuggler tipped off the militia about their plans to extort the detainees’ families for ransom. The proceeds from the ransoms are believed to be shared among those involved in the scheme.
