Our correspondent reported that a militant group from the town of Hayyan in northern Aleppo recently cut down around 60 olive trees belonging to local resident Mohammed Ahmad Suleiman near the village of Duraqliya in the Sharan sub-district. Before cutting down the trees, the militants harvested and took the entire olive crop.

In a related incident, IDPs near the Karsaneh cemetery, southwest of Afrin city, cut down approximately 25 pomegranate trees belonging to Mohammed Dawood. The trees were located in a field along the Ain Dara road, near a checkpoint controlled by the “Civil Police” militia.

Additionally, military police checkpoints surrounding Afrin have imposed a 200 Turkish lira fee on any truck carrying olive oil into the city.

These incidents reflect widespread looting practices reportedly orchestrated by factions of the “Syrian National Army” under Turkish intelligence direction, further impacting local livelihoods and resources in Afrin.
