Our correspondent reports that the “Mutasim Division” militia has taken control of the olive harvest from 200 trees belonging to the family of the late Bayram Agid in the village of Habu, Mobato/Maabatli district. Despite the family’s presence in Afrin and their complaints to authorities, no action has been taken.
Additionally, the “9th Division” militia has reportedly confiscated the olive harvest from around 75 trees owned by Abdo Khalil from Sheikh village in Rajo sub-district. The same militia is accused of taking the yield from an additional 15 trees in the nearby village of Dikeh in Bulbul sub-district.
Meanwhile, the “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” militia has imposed restrictions on locals in the villages under its control in Rajo sub-district, forcing them to use only the olive mills it oversees. Residents face threats of confiscation if they attempt to process their olives elsewhere.
These actions are part of a wider pattern of exploitation, as local residents experience increased control and limitations on their agricultural livelihoods.
