According to our sources, a civilian named Hassan Ali Ali, hailing from Kokan village and residing in Afrin, was abducted by the Turkish-allied “Al-Jabha a-Shamiya” militia on April 8th in the occupied city of Azaz. The militia accused Hassan of past affiliations with the Autonomous Administration.
Hassan, aged 46, works in well digging along the Trenda road in Afrin. His family was demanded by The aforementioned militia to pay a ransom of $10,000 for his release.
This incident sheds light on the ongoing pattern of abduction by “Al-Jabha Al-Shamiya” militia, which frequently targets civilians and displaced individuals from Turkish territories via the Bab al-Salama crossing. Last week, seven Syrian refugees faced a similar fate when they were abducted for refusing to pay a fee of 3,500 Turkish liras each. They were only released upon payment of the demanded amount.
