A delegation from the Kurdish National Council “ENKS” has visited the family of Kurdish citizen Jamal Mohammad Hamo, who died after being brutally attacked by Turkish-allied armed individuals and IDPs affiliated with the “Suqour al-Shamal” militia. The visit aimed to file a complaint against the assailants.
According to our correspondent, the family questioned whether the council could ensure their safety after filing the complaint, fearing a fate similar to that of the Peshmerga family. However, the delegation’s response was negative, prompting the family to ask them not to intervene in their affairs or take any photos, stating they were not intending to file any complaints.
Jamal Mohammad Hamo (54 years old), a resident of Afrin’s Mahmoudiya neighborhood, was from the Jaafar Rash family in Jabaliya\ Çê village. He was prevented by Turkish authorities from returning to his village, which was turned into a military zone. Hamo’s fatal encounter occurred while inspecting his olive field near Gubakeh village, where he and his companions were violently attacked by IDPs, resulting in his death due to cardiac arrest induced by the assault.
This incident follows the deaths of four members of the Peshmerga family on the eve of the 2023 Newroz holiday, with ongoing threats and intimidation from the militia responsible. The delegation’s visit raises questions about their true intentions, given the history of crimes against Kurds in the region and the lack of action from the council.
