afrinpost-Exclusive

In a continuous pattern of oppressive measures, the Turkish authorities persists in tightening its grip on the Kurdish residents of Afrin through arbitrary practices, harassment, and ongoing arrests, affecting both those residing within the occupied territory of Afrin and those within its borders.

Our sources reported that on January 13th, Turkish authorities arrested 20-year-old Kurdish youth, “Hassan Muhammad Hamo” from the village of Kumrash – Rajo district, in the city of Istanbul. The reasons behind his arrest remain unclear.

This arrest follows closely after the detention of 18-year-old Kurdish youth, “Farid Manan Habash,” from the village of Dikyeh – Bulbul district, also in Istanbul.

It’s worth noting that Turkish authorities have reportedly detained approximately 15 Kurdish citizens within its borders in the year 2023, as documented by the “afrinpost” network.
