Our sources reported that Turkish security authorities in Istanbul arrested 25-year-old Adnan Nuri Hassan from the residents of Shara/Sharan on January 15th, despite possessing a temporary protection card (Kimlik).
This incident marks the third case monitored by our network since the beginning of 2024, highlighting a pattern of Kurdish youth arrests within Turkish territories, particularly among those residing in the significant city of Istanbul.
Earlier this month, Turkish authorities detained Kurdish youth Hassan Muhammad Hamo from the village of Kamrash – Rajo district on January 13th. Additionally, citizen Farid Mannan Habash from the village of Dikeh – Bulbul district was arrested on January 8th in Istanbul, both without clear reasons provided.
It’s worth noting that Turkish authorities reportedly detained around 15 Kurdish citizens within its borders in 2023, as documented by the “afrinpost” network.
