The “Ninth Division” militia brutally attacked four young men who entered through the Jarabulus border crossing in the northeastern countryside of Aleppo. The assault occurred because they refused to ride in passenger transport vehicles operated by the militia. The victims were also threatened with death if they filed a complaint against the militia with Turkish authorities.
According to our correspondent, four young men from Aleppo province entered Syrian territory through the Jarabulus crossing from Turkey to visit relatives in Syria. Each paid a $200 entry fee to the Jarabulus local council. While waiting for a car they had previously arranged to take them to Idlib, they were surprised to find that members of the “Ninth Division” militia wanted to force them to ride in a minibus operated by the militia.
When the young men refused to take the minibus and informed them that they had arranged with another car driver, one of the militia members, affiliated with the leader known as “Abu Aghid,” threatened to smash any car entering the crossing. They insisted that the young men must ride in the militia-designated minibus. The militia then began assaulting them with the butts of their weapons and later threatened them with death if they filed a complaint against them.
