Continued Exploitation of Confiscated Kurdish Properties in Occupied Afrin

afrinpost-Exclusive

IDPs, loyal to Turkish-backed militias in Afrin, persist in trading properties forcibly taken from Kurdish citizens in the occupied city of Afrin, amidst ongoing acts of theft, looting, and plunder under the cover of armed militias and Turkish authorities.

According to our reporter, an IDP from the Qalash family, originally from the city of Arbin in the Damascus countryside, seizes two commercial properties near the Al-Bayraq Bakery located on al-Sarfis Road in Al-Ashrafieh neighborhood. Recently, he sold one of the properties, owned by citizen “Ahmad Shekho” from Sheikhurzeh in Bulbul, for $1700. He also leased the other property to an IDP from Hama for $30 monthly.

Another IDP from the Damascus Ghouta region sold the house of citizen “Mohammad Murad” from the town of Şiyê/Shaikh al-Hadid, situated on al-Sarfis Road in Al-Ashrafieh neighborhood as well, for $1500.
