Explosion Rocks Militia Checkpoint in Occupied Afrin: Casualties Reported

An explosive device concealed within a cargo truck detonated this evening, November 18, at the checkpoint of the Military Police militia at the entrance of the occupied city of Afrin (Al-Qaws checkpoint) on the Afrin-Azaz road.

Our correspondent reports that the blast resulted in the death of a member of the Military Police militia and injuries to others, including civilians: “Mohammed Ghassan, Hussein Malla al-Dakhil, Mohammed Abbas, Havar Mustafa, Hussein al-Ahmad, Ali Hayani, Bassel al-Tabab.” Additionally, two individuals from the Mawali tribe sustained injuries. The explosion significantly damaged the checkpoint.

The Military Police successfully apprehended the truck driver, who is a member of the joint force affiliated with the “Ammashat and Hamzat” militias, after attempting to flee the scene. This incident unfolded amidst heightened alertness among its forces in the occupied city of Afrin.
