Escalation Continues as Turkish and Russian Forces Strike Northern Syrian Regions

In the latest developments, on October 11th, Turkish military forces initiated a shelling of the vicinity of Tell Rifaat city in northern Aleppo with multiple rocket projectiles. As of now, there is no detailed information available regarding the extent of damages caused by the attack. This incident transpired amidst ongoing shelling of villages in the Shahba region, as well as the Sherawa and Sharan sub-districts in Afrin.

During the preceding evening, several villages, including Aqibah and Abbin in the Sherawa sub-district, as well as Bilunya and the Shahba Dam area in the Shahba region, were targeted by heavy artillery fire. Concurrently, Turkish reconnaissance drones continued to patrol the region, in tandem with the Russian military aircraft flying in the area’s airspace.

On another front, Russian fighter jets executed airstrikes on positions held by the “Hayat Tahrir al-Sham” organization along the al-Kabbani Hills in the northern Latakia region and al-Fatirah in the Jabal al-Zawiya area of southern Idlib. These strikes resulted in the destruction of militant fortifications and casualties, with four militants reported dead or injured.

Additionally, the Syrian regime’s army launched artillery bombardments on the villages of Tadil, Kafr Taal, Kafr Ammah, al-Qasr, and al-Sahara in western Aleppo.
