In a recent escalation of violence, eight IDPs, including children, were wounded, prompting others to flee towards the city of Afrin and the village of Maryamin. The incident occurred on August 9th as Syrian government forces targeted the “Kuwait Al-Rahma” settlement with heavy artillery in the Shara sub-district of occupied Afrin.
Simultaneously, Syrian government troops unleashed artillery bombardments on the outskirts of villages such as Kafr Nouran, Al-Qasr, Tadil, Al-Atarib, and Kafr Amma in the western Aleppo countryside. Additional artillery fire targeted Fleifel and Fattatre in the Idlib countryside. The situation is compounded by the intensive reconnaissance flights of Russian aircraft in the area.
Earlier on the same day, the violence claimed the life of Khaled Abdul Qader, while numerous civilian homes were damaged. Syrian government forces employed heavy artillery and rocket launchers to strike villages and towns, including Kafr Nouran, Al-Qasr, and Tadil in the western Aleppo countryside.
