Today, on July 31, local sources reported that the so-called “Ouso Hayani” militants have cut down 75 olive trees belonging to the citizen “Hussein Asmat” from the Bulbul sub-district, nearly a week ago. The militants claimed that Hussein was a member of the Reconciliation Committee during the previous Autonomous Administration in Afrin.
After cutting down the trees, the armed militants sold the logs to an IDP originating from Idlib, residing on the Sarfis Road next to Bilal Mosque in al-Ashrafieh neighborhood, for $80 per ton of firewood.
Earlier, on July 29, “afrinpost” reported the cutting of 67 olive trees by IDPs affiliated with Turkish-backed armed militias in the occupied region of Afrin.
