Russian Soldier Killed in Turkish Attack on Armored Vehicle in Afrin, Syria

On June 12th, a Russian soldier succumbed to his injuries at the Avrin Hospital in Fafin district. The soldier had been wounded when Turkish forces directly targeted a Russian armored vehicle on the Harbul-Umm al-Housh road in the Shahba region of Aleppo countryside.

According to our correspondent, Turkish forces targeted the Russian armored vehicle, resulting in injuries to four Russian soldiers. Russian forces swiftly cordoned off the area of the attack and transported the wounded to the Avrin Hospital in Fafin. However, one Russian soldier tragically lost his life at the hospital.

Meanwhile, a convoy of seven Russian armored vehicles departed from the Russian base in Al-Wahshiya village towards the site of the attack. Russian helicopters arrived at the vicinity near Mazara Umm al-Housh village to evacuate the wounded and deceased.

In related news, fierce clashes erupted after midnight between the Syrian regime army and “National Army” militias, using heavy and medium machine guns, along the Maarat-Harbul axis in the northern countryside of Aleppo. The clashes continued until dawn, accompanied by reciprocal artillery shelling, with no information available regarding the extent of damage caused.
