In a recent incident in the city of Afrin, the Turkish-affiliated military police militia reportedly arrested individuals, including a woman, based on a list containing pre-prepared fabricated charges. Local sources suggest that this action was aimed at extortion.
According to our correspondent, on May 24th, the military police militia summoned Alif Mohammed Rasoolo, a 25-year-old resident of the village of Kafardaleh Tahtani in the Jindires sub-district, to their headquarters. She was immediately detained without being informed of the charges against her, and she remains in custody.
The correspondent further reported that the military police militia has compiled a list of Kurdish citizens, intending to arrest them on fabricated charges as a means of intimidation and financial extortion. On May 25th, the same militia arrested Nawras Asaad Kalo, a Kurdish citizen approximately 30 years old, from his home in the village of Kafarziteh in the Jindires sub-district of occupied Afrin.
The correspondent added that Kalo was arrested on charges related to performing the self-defense duty during the period of Autonomous Administration in the Kurdish region. This arrest followed a raid on his house and a search conducted by an armed patrol.
Additionally, sources reported that a joint patrol of the security police militia and the military police arrested Mohammed Jalal Qadu, a 29-year-old resident of the village of Tarnada, on May 25th from his barbershop in the village.
It should be noted that this is the third time Mohammed has been arrested without a clear charge against him.
On the night of May 23rd, a patrol from the military police militia raided several houses in the village of Kafardaleh Tahtani – Jindires sub-district, and detained three individuals from the same family on charges of working in the previous Autonomous Administration institutions in the Afrin region. They were identified as Nawal Khalil Haj Hannan (26 years old), Abdullah Haj Hannan (40 years old), and Mahmoud Abdul Rahman Haj Hannan (42 years old). They were taken to the militia’s headquarters in the occupied city of Afrin.
