Militia-backed IDP Allegedly Utilizes “Pastry” Shop for Dealing Drugs in Afrin

afrinpost– Exclusive

Afrin, Syria – For the past five years, Turkish-backed militias operating in the occupied region of Afrin have been committing egregious violations against the local population, with their heinous actions becoming a daily occurrence, devoid of any moral description, and taking place in the absence of any meaningful legal accountability or justice.

According to our reporter in the city, the Turkish-backed militants have converted some public places into drug and hashish trafficking centers, without any intervention from the security forces to stop such blatant displays in the occupied city of Afrin.

Our reporter added that an IDP from Ghouta in Damascus has taken over a pastry shop called “Gâteau Avin”, which is nothing more than a front for the promotion, consumption, and sale of drugs.

Every evening, IDPs and armed individuals, mostly affiliated with the “Jaysh al-Islam” militia, gather in the shop and hold gatherings for the consumption and sale of hashish and drugs.

The shop is located in al-Ashrafieh neighborhood of Afrin city and is owned by the widow “Umm Abdo”, who is from the village of Ain Hajareh, in Mobata/Ma’batli district.

On the other hand, the leader of the “Suleiman Shah/Al-Amshat” militia, known as “Abu Amsha”, recently brought in 18 camels to the center of the Şiyê/Sheikh al-Hadid district and left them to graze as they please.

According to local sources, the camels have caused significant damage to wheat, olive, and grape fields as they roam freely, but no one dares to file a complaint against him.
