Since three months, pro-Turkey “Al-Shamiya” cut off drinking water from villages in Afrin

afrinpost – Special

Our sources in Afrin reported that the Turkish-backed “Al-Jabha Al-Shamiya” militia has been cuttinng off drinking water from the villages of Qastal Kashik, Qara Tabba and Jumkeh in Shara district for more than three months.

The aforementioned villages have been nourished by the Kafr Jannah spring located in the camp (formerly Al-Tala’a camp) since the eighties of the last century, but “Al-Jabha Al-Shamiyat” militia seized the camp after occupying Afrin region in March 2018, and turned it into a prison and military base.

According to previous information obtained by “afrinpost” reporters, the Turrkish-supported “Al-Jabha Al-Shamiya” militia manufactures drugs in their base in the village.

Three months ago, the same militia cut off water from the villages surrounding the spring continuously, under the pretext of feeding the camp with water, thus depriving the residents of those villages of safe drinking water.

The abundance of the Kafr Jannah spring is 300 cubic meters per second, and a part of it also supplies the city of Afrin with drinking water.
