Kurdish lawyer arrested for 10 months, released for 5,200 Turkish liras, in Syria’s Afrin

The Turkish authorities released Today, Wednesday, the Kurdish lawyer “Mannan Ahmed Bayram” after about 10 months of detention. The lawyer paid them a fine of 5,200 Turkish liras and bought his freedom.

On August 30, 2021, the Turkish authorities arrested the human rights defender “Mannan Bayram” while he was in Rajo district center, and on September 7, 2021, transferred him from Rajo prison to the central detention center in Afrin, in preparation for his trial on the pretext of making statements against Turkey, namely he was accused of appearing on a Kurdish news channel, making statements about the Turkish aggression during February-March 2018 in Afrin region.
