Local source from Afrin reported that the pro-Turkey “military police” arrested the citizen Khalil Mustafa Sheikho (48 years), from the village of Kusa / Kosanli in Rajo sub-district, and his wife Aytan (38 years), on Saturday, August 14. The family used to live in the border town of Meydan Akbas then moved to al-Mahmudiya neighborhood in the city of Afrin.
The source added that the wife, Aytan, was working in the military hospital in Afrin, in al-Mahmoudiyah neighborhood, and was arrested on charges of working in Maydan Akbas clinic during the previous Autonomous Administration period.
The source indicated that the citizen Khalil Sheikho was also arrested on the same day on charges of cross-border smuggling before the occupation of Afrin, and the couple are currently being held in Afrin Central Prison located in the village of Ma’arate.
In a related context, the Human Rights Organization – Afrin stated that the militants of the Turkish-backed “Al-Waqqas” militia kidnapped four citizens from their homes on Tuesday 17/8/2021 in the village of Hêkêçe in Shieh / Sheikh Al-Hadid sub-district on charges of performing the duty of self-defense during the previous autonomous administration period, and the kidnapped citizens are:
Abdo Hannan Sabry, 21 years old.
Ali Youssef Ali (40 years old).
Sherhat Zaim Hassan (27 years old).
Murad Qaziqli Dalo (20 years old).
The kidnapped citizens were taken to an unknown destination, and no information reported about their current situation.
