A member of the Turkish-backed Jaish al-Nukhba militia was killed and five others were seriously injured last Friday night, as a result of violent clashes that took place between them and “Suqour Al-Shamal” militia, due to a dispute over the sharing of looted antiquities funds in an archaeological site in the countryside of the occupied Afrin region in northern Syria.
According to our reporter, violent clashes erupted between the pro-Turkey Soqour al-Shamal militia, led by the so-called “Hassan Khairiah”, and “Jaish al-Nukhba” militia led by the so-called “Moataz Raslan”, against the background of disputes over the sharing of antiquities and gold funds, which were extracted from the “Nabi Hori” archaeological site.
Our correspondent pointed out that Suqour al-Shamal militia attacked the headquarters of the “Jaish al-Nukhba.”, which is located in the village of Derwîş and was able to cordon off the village, and violent clashes erupted between the two parties, in which heavy machine guns and RPGs were used. Later, Suqour al-Shamal militia was able to take control of the village completely.
The reporter added that the clashes resulted in the killing of a member of Jaish al-Nukhba and the injury of five others from both sides, who are:
1- Alaa Ahmed Eid / Suqour Al Shamal / injured.
2- Abdo Ahmed Abd / Suqour Al Shamal / injured.
3- Muhammad Ahmad Saleh / Suqour Al Shamal / injured.
4- Yamen Hassan Issa / Jaish al-Nukhba / injured.
5- Ihab Radwan Miri / Jaish al-Nukhba / killed.
6- Muhammad Ahmed Miri / Jaish al-Nukhba / injured.
Similar clashes erupted on June 20, 2021, between the two groups in the village of Omer Simo, against the background of the right to search for antiquities in the vicinity of Nabi Hori archeological site in Sharan sub-district.
