A Turkish-backed armed group intercepted this morning, the road of a Kurdish citizen who was driving on Afrin-Raju road, and tried to kidnap him stating that he is “wanted” by the Turkish authorities. Anyway, when he resisted the kidnapping, the gunmen shot him in his leg and left him on the road until a citizen found him and took him to a hospital in Afrin.

According to reliable sources, the 52-year-old Kurdish citizen “Ahmed Rashid Dawood” known as Abu Alan, was heading in his car at exactly seven o’clock in the morning, from Afrin to his village “Avrazê”, when an armed group intercepted him at Cûqê/ Jwaiq village junction, and tried to kidnap him, but “Abu Alan” resisted the kidnappers and refused to submit to them, so the gunmen shot him directly in his leg, and when he fell to the ground, the gunmen hit his head with the butt of their rifles and left him on the road until an ambulance arrived and took him to the military hospital in the city of Afrin.

The sources added that the kidnappers tried, before striking him, to drag him to the olive fields, with the aim of liquidating him, nevertheless, his resistance ruined their plan, as well as, the road traffic helped him. It is worth noting that the area in which the operation took place is under the control of the pro-Turkey “Hamza Division”.
