Kurdish citizen arrested in Afrin and two citizens released after more than three years in detention

The Turkish authorities arrested a Kurdish citizen at a checkpoint at the entrance to the city of Afrin, and released two citizens who had spent more than three years of detention in al-Ra’i prison.

The afrinpost reporter in the city center of Afrin reported that the “Political Security” militia arrested on Friday 11/6/2021 the Kurdish citizen Ahmed Ibrahim Muhammad (35 years), from the village of Xelîleko, in Bulbul district, at security checkpoint at the entrance to the city of Afrin, on charges of joining the Core Protection Forces during the previous Autonomous Administration period.

The reporter added that the citizen Ahmed works in building construction, and resides in Ashrafieh neighborhood – Servis Road – next to the headquarters of the so-called “Naim” of the “Syrian Front” militia, and he was on his way to work in the village of Matina when he was arrested.

In another context, on 3/6/2021, the Turkish authorities released the Kurdish citizen, “Abidin Ali Hamo (30 years), from the village of Şîltaetê in Şera district after arresting him for three years and three months, and on the following day 4/6/ 2021 The Turkish authorities released the Kurdish citizen, Horik Rashid Selo (30 years), from the same village, after he spent three years and a month and a half in detention.
