A quarrel broke out between gunmen from the Islamic “al-Hamzat” militia and the settlers of Eastern Ghouta at noon today, Sunday, to develop into a clash with light weapons in al-Mahmudiyah neighborhood in the center of the occupied Afrin region, which resulted in the injury of a child from al-Ghouta settlers with a bullet.
According to the afrinpost correspondent, gunmen from “al-Hamzat” militia attempted to steal two motorcycles belonging to settlers from Eastern Ghouta, but with their attempt to repel the theft, a quarrel broke out between the two parties, and it developed into a clash with light weapons at al-Mahmoudiya gas station.
Today’s tension between the two sides is not the first of its kind. On May 28, 2020, settlers from Eastern Ghouta stormed the headquarters of “al-Hamzat” militia, located in the former Asayish center, against the backdrop of the killing of a person from Eastern Ghouta running a shop, who refused to sell a militia member. And was the reason for revealing a secret militia prison that contains many kidnapped Kurdish women.
