The Turkish occupation and the Islamic militia militants affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood cut off dozens of trees between the village of Marateh and the center of the occupied Kurdish region of Afrin, so that Turkey continues to destroy the nature of Afrin through its militants.
As the “Afrinpost” correspondent at the center stated, “Muslim Brotherhood” militia gunmen cut down 40 forest trees, near the water channel between Afrin and the village of Marateh, in order to turn them into firewood and sell it.
The reporter indicated in the details, that according to his communication with the people of the region, a Kia car and a van with about 20 armed men came about a week ago from now, with a saw and an electric generator, and they cut the trees and took them within five hours.
The reporter pointed out that this place was a place for a hike for the people, and added: “A while ago, young men went and hiked there, and after a few days they went again thinking that they had missed the place, but at that time the gunmen had cut down trees and changed the whole place.”
While a source from Afrin confirmed that these trees are 30 years old, and said that he remembers when they were planted, as this was published on social networking sites showing pictures, obtained by Afrinpost, of uprooted trees.
It is noteworthy that the Turkish occupation militia and settlers have cut down all the trees in al-Mahmudiyah Forest and turned it into a barren place after it was full of trees.
