Afrinpost – Special
Nasr al-Hariri’s visit to the “Military Police” militia prison in the village of Maaratah in the occupied Afrin region was much under the level of a show or a representation, and a very bad beautification, so the ugliness increased even more.
In a video promoted by the so-called “National Coalition” media, the so-called Nasr al-Hariri, accompanied by the so-called Yasser al-Farhan, head of the so-called National Authority for Detainees and Missing Persons, visited Afrin, specifically to the prison of the “Military Police” militia in Maratah.
The talk began, as usual, with theorizing about the revolution, the slogan of freedom, and the state of prisoners in the regime’s prisons, with the aim of making a comparison, inciting the feelings of observers, and to come to a prior conclusion that the prisons in Afrin are in good condition.
The Detachment from Afrin’s Realities
The first inaccuracies that cannot be ignored were referring to the Afrin region, describing it as “the liberated” because it is in fact occupied and permissible by terrorist militias that practice violations of all kinds day and night, and all institutions in it work with the aim of perpetuating the occupation, and have nothing to do with the Syrian national affiliation.
There is no trace of realism in al-Hariri’s theoretical talk, who tried in vain to assume the personality of the official and the national figure, about the prisons of a correctional institution and a fair judiciary, because justice requires that the coalition with its entire staff and with it all armed militias be in the place of “prison inmates”, with various crimes, the least of which is treason, labor and concealment of the truth, As for the rest of the crimes committed, such as theft, kidnapping, and murder, they have become constant information and the content of media reports, human rights institutions and even the United Nations, the most recent of which is the report of the International Investigation Commission on 9/14/2020, which described the militia violations as war crimes.
Al-Hariri’s speech embodied a state of complete detachment from reality, when he talked about spending time in prison with sports and reading and the possibility of learning professions in the future, while saying that the reality that the coalition delegation saw is an example of what Syrians dream about for the nation’s institutions in the future, is the most extreme degree of falsifying the truth.
Afrin is a big prison
Crimes in Afrin start from aggression, occupation, displacement of its people, and then demographic change through settlement and appropriation of the property of the people, kidnapping, enforced disappearance and torture in militia prisons that the coalition does not know their number and location, but rather has no authority to know, and while ransoms are required under threat of death, and rape crimes are committed and many other violations of the rights of land, trees and monuments, all of this made occupied Afrin a large prison, from which the original people were forced to flee through the smuggling mafias, leaving it to the militia of the Muslim Brotherhood.
As for the so-called Yasser Al-Farhan, who spoke about terrorism, according to the Turkish description, and his mention of the presence of ISIS, it is ridiculous, because many elements of ISIS joined what he called the “national army”, and until the Turkish occupation terrorism did not reach Afrin except with the occupation.
Al-Farhan talked about human rights and international law standards, and the prisoner’s ability to communicate with and their families, while the many media, international and human rights reports confirm that it has been completely violated, and he says that he conducted interviews with prison officials and prisoners, but what appeared in the video report was a completely clumsy representative clip. Nobody knows the truth about prisons and interrogation basements, in the occupied areas controlled by militias that fight for spoils, and therefore the reference to observing the legal rules was very strange and untenable.
The perpetrators are out of prison, and the story does not amount to even a lie
In Afrin, hundreds of cases of disappearance due to kidnapping since the declaration of the occupation, families do not know anything about their fate, and the story of prisoners’ communication with their families does not even rise to the level of a lie, because the lie must contain some truth, but the coalition lie has no trace of the truth in it, and hardly a day passes without an incident of kidnapping, while the accusations are fabricated and ready, and the kidnapping is often collective.
Let questions be raised, about whether al-Hariri and his ilk could reveal the fate of the kidnapped Kurdish women, whose presence in the headquarters of “Al-Hamzah” militia revealed their presence in it more than a year after their disappearance, despite the fact that the story spread in all media outlets? Can he talk about the bodies of those killed by “al-Nukhbah Army” militia? Can he talk about fair trials that were carried out for the murderers of elderly Kurdish martyrs, such as Fatima Kanneh, Suleiman Hamko and Ali Ahmed (Alyikeh), who was attacked by settler shepherds, and the elderly Muhyiddin Osu and his elderly wife Houria Muhammad Bakr who were beaten to death by thieves?
Then what about the slaughter of the martyr Farida Rasho and the suffocation of the elderly martyr Aisha Nuri Hannan, and the shooting of the martyr Sultana Khalil Nasro and the killing of her elderly husband Hamdi Abdo by stoning and cutting his hand, and throwing a grenade on the martyr Fatima Hamkeh? What about the martyrdom of the Kurdish citizen “Abd al-Rahman Ibish Baku,” as a result of the severe torture he suffered by “al-Hamzah Squad” militia, and the martyrdom of Adnan Rashid Amir, who tried to prevent a robbery, and forcibly killed the elderly Ismail Alo Ismail?
Has the truth been revealed about the murderer of the two Kurdish youths, Hannan Hannan son of Hussein and Abdul Rahman Sheikh Ahmed son of Ali, on the road? Is it possible to uncover the truth about the killing of the citizen Sharaf al-Din Sido, “one of the people of Jenderes district, who was unable to pay a ransom of $ 100,000, and his body was found mutilated and burned …? The list is very long, while the number of those who have been kidnapped is thousands, and the fate of many of them is still unknown. The real perpetrators are outside the prison, as they are the jailers and manage the area.
