Afrinpost – Special

The month of August witnessed a record number of people who were kidnapped or arrested in the occupied Afrin region, and their number reached 96 citizens, according to what was monitored by the correspondents of “Afrinpost” and the rest of the human rights and media observatories. It is not a final number, as many arrests take place without being documented due to the atmosphere of terror, the absence of law, and the retaliation that may occur from the victims if they leak the news to the media, and the arrests were carried out by armed militia and military police, and targeted different age groups of children and youth, including women and elderly people.

In the context, the Human Rights Organization in Afrin reported that Turkish intelligence agents, in coordination with armed men from the “Military Police” militia in the Jenderes district, raided the village of Chulaqa in the Jenderes district, and kidnapped a number of the village residents among them. Three are very old, and fabricated accusations were leveled against him, as usual, such as dealing with the previous Autonomous Administration and performing the duty of self-defense, and they were taken to the center of Mobata / Maabatli district, without knowing their fate until now, for the purpose of extortion and ransom in exchange for their release.

The arrested citizens are: (1) Kamal Sheikho son of Muhammad Amro (80 years old). 2 Abd al-Rahman Sido son of Khalil Amro (80 years old). 3- Abdel-Rahman Rasho bin Muhammad Amro (75 years old). 4- Rustum Rayhana son of Izzat Amro ( 45 years old) 5. Hamza Rasho son of Ahmed Amro (45 years old) 6. Ahmad Rasho son of Nabi Amro 40 years old.

It is noteworthy that Turkish intelligence and Military Police militia members have previously arrested more than 15 residents of the village in the past two months as part of the arrest campaigns targeting Kurdish citizens according to a plan drawn up by the Turkish intelligence, and some of them were released after they were obligated to pay ransoms.

On the other hand, a group of Turkish intelligence agents, accompanied by armed men from the “National Army” militia, at eight in the morning on Saturday the 29th of August, arrested Salah Brimo, a resident of the village of Goran in Raju district, after raiding his house and searching it thoroughly using Trained police dogs, and he was taken to Raju police station without mentioning the reasons, and his fate remains unknown until now. It is reported that the citizen Salah Brimo is married and has three children.

It is noteworthy that on the 29th of this month, the security forces of the “Ahrar Al-Sharqiya” militia, in coordination with the Military Police Militia, arrested the child Nuri Junaid son of Walid (15 years) from the district of Jenderes, under a false and fabricated pretext, which is dealing with the People’s Protection Units, and the child Nuri was beaten and tortured. He was only released after his family had paid a ransom of $ 500,000 Syrian pounds. Meanwhile, his child brother Rajab Junaid (12 years old) and his cousin Ahmed Junaid (11 years old) were beaten when they visited the Military Police headquarters to ask about him.
