“Al-Waqqas Brigade” militia kidnapped 3 Kurdish citizens in Hekeche-Afrin

Last Sunday, August 9, 2020, the “Waqqas Brigade” militia affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood organization kidnapped three Kurdish citizens from their homes in the village of Hekeche, of Jenderes district in the countryside of the occupied Afrin region in northern Syria, and took them to an unknown destination.

The Afrinpost correspondent in the district confirmed that the kidnapped were (Muhammad Sabri, 58 years old, Fawzi Sabri, 56 years old, and Hassan Sabri, 49 years old), indicating that the militia is asking their families to pay a ransom in exchange for their release.

On August 12, 2020, the Turkish intelligence launched a large-scale arrest campaign in the center of the occupied Afrin region, accused of belonging to cells belonging to the “Syrian Democratic Forces”. The campaign resulted in the arrest of 17 Kurdish citizens, including 3 citizens in the industrial zone alone, without being able to Documenting the names of those arrested in that campaign.

On 11/8/2020, the military and civil police of the Turkish occupation arrested 11 Kurdish citizens in the village of Brimjeh in the Mobata district, and they were taken to Afrin city center under the pretext of belonging to or dealing with the previous autonomous-administration, and then demanding their families to pay ransoms in exchange for their release .

The kidnapped are namely:

1- Ahmed Bakr, son of Ali and Fidan, 60 years old

2- Najm al-Din Battal, son of Ezzat and Fidan, 65 years old

3- Muhammad Nuri Seydou, son of Sheikh Mus and Zalloukh, 60 years old

4- Essam Muhammad, son of Musa and Khaja, 31 years old

5- Mustafa Seydou, son of Sheikh Moss and Zalloukh, 50 years old

6- Asaad Khalil Murad, son of Hanan, 60 years old

7- Nuri Mustafa Bakr, son of Fatima, 65 years old

8- Sheikho Abdo Oso, son of Elif, 65 years old

9-Faeq Sabri Moussa, son of Farida, 35 years old

10- Abdo Khalil Abbas, 70 years old

11- Muhammad Bashir, son of Farida, 70 years old

Kidnappings and arrests took place in the context of harassment and spreading terror and despair among the remaining indigenous Kurdish population, with of pushing them to leave their lands and bring about comprehensive demographic change in the interest of the settlers loyal to the Turkish occupation.
